HERITAGE OF CHINA (Offered through Evening @ Emory)

More than five thousand years in history, Chinese civilization is one of the oldest in the world. This course introduces students to major aspects of the Chinese cultural heritage, helping them understand and appreciate Chinese culture and its modern transformation. Topics covered include: history, philosophy, language, religion, literature, cinema, and music. A rich corpus of readings and multimedia presentations will take students on a fascinating journey through Chinese civilization from the antiquity to the contemporary world.
