ABOUT US

 

The Confucius Institute in Atlanta is a private-public-international partnership among Emory University, Atlanta Public Schools (APS), and Nanjing University, China, with the sponsorship of the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) and the Confucius Institute Headquarters in China.

The Institute is a gateway to Chinese language and culture for individuals, families, communities and schools in metro Atlanta and the surrounding area.

Our mission:

  • Promote understanding of Chinese language and culture through training courses, cultural workshops and events
  • Introduce K-12 instruction in Modern Standard Chinese
  • Serve as regional center for Chinese teacher training and Chinese curriculum development
  • Help address needs of the business community and the general public
  • Build connections and partnerships between the Atlanta community and China
