The talk will focus on China's interaction with the world economy and global economic recovery through trade, investment, and cooperation in global governance and innovation. Professor Fu will also discuss how deeper interactions in these areas can impact recovery and the challenges that lie ahead for China.

About the speaker:

Xiaolan Fu is director of the Technology and Management for Development Centre at the University of Oxford, which aims to address issues on technology and management facing public and private policymakers today.

As an accomplished academic and business leader, Fu has led several projects for the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Economic and Social Research Council in the UK, including a £500,000-project on The Diffusion of Innovation in Low-Income Countries. She has also published extensively on China's role in the global economy, technology, and business management, and has participated in interviews and panels for the BBC as a leading China expert.

Fu is a professor of technology and international development and a fellow at Green Templeton College at the University of Oxford. Previously, she was a senior research fellow at Cambridge University.
