Research & Scholarship
The Confucius Institute supports the study of Chinese language, culture, and society, and promotes international scholarly exchanges with Chinese institutions. It encourages research on traditional and contemporary China by students and scholars at Emory and in the State of Georgia. It provides funding for activities such as distinguished China speaker series for the public, compilation of teaching materials, conference travel, and academic conferences by Emory faculty. The CI is an integral part of Chinese Studies at Emory and works in close collaboration with The Claus M. Halle Institute for Global Research and Learning to promote internationalization of teaching and research on China at Emory and beyond.
